learning & education at Silvertown
EDUCATION
IN LONDON'S YOUNGEST BOROUGH, SILVERTOWN WILL BRING 5,000 SQ M OF NEW LEARNING AND EDUCATIONAL SPACE TO NEWHAM.

For an area historically lacking in well-paid professional opportunities, it’s a step in the right direction.

Education is a huge priority for The Silvertown Partnership, with a high proportion of plot applications earmarked for learning and education – including some in the iconic Millennium Mills building itself.

Primarily clustered in the Victoria Gardens neighbourhood, this educational space will include nurseries, a primary school, and community areas.

Beyond the classroom, reclaimed artefacts will be repurposed as educational tools, while signage will teach young residents all about the history of Silvertown. Finally, as part of our mission to transform London’s relationship with its water, rain gardens will be included in the dockside park for local children to play and explore.

Local collaborations are already taking shape, including a partnership with Inspire! EBP to support educational engagement in Newham.

In 2022-23, we engaged with 372 students and indirectly supported over 11,000 beneficiaries through mentoring programmes, site visits, STEM workshops, and work experience. We’re delighted to say that this partnership will continue into the next academic year.
